Crane & Rigging Inspector/Technician

Responsibilities


Rossco Hook Line & Sling LLC, a division of Rossco Crane & Rigging, Inc., is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Crane and Rigging Inspector Technician to support inspections, testing, and service of below-the-hook lifting gear, rigging, and overhead and mobile crane systems. This role is critical to ensuring customer equipment meets OSHA and ANSI standards while maintaining safe and reliable operation.

Responsibilities include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and load testing overhead cranes, hoists, rigging, and lifting hardware. The Technician will perform preventive maintenance, evaluate equipment condition, recommend required repairs, and respond to service and repair calls. Additional duties include documenting inspections and service work using reports and checklists, maintaining professional presentation and organization, and safely working at heights using ladders and elevated work platforms. Work is primarily Monday through Friday, with overtime and weekend work as needed, and travel may be required.

 

Requirements


Certifications/Years of Experience:

  • Electrical repair and diagnostic experience required (2+ years of experience)
  • Mechanical repair experience required (2+ years experience)
  • Overhead crane operation and inspection experience preferred (2 years experience, training available)
  • Ability to perform inspections to OSHA and ANSI criteria (formal training or 1+ year experience)
  • Class A CDL required within 6 months of hire
  • Forklift and skid steer operation experience preferred (training available)

Eligibility & Preferences:

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits and assemble or repair complex machinery
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under deadlines
  • Safety oriented with strong attention to quality and results
  • Ability to work at heights using ladders and elevated work platforms
  • Willingness to travel and stay out of town when needed
  • Able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs
  • Ability to work indoors, outdoors, and in loud environments
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Good driving record
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug testing
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct
