The story of BEAMS begins with Craig Breitbach’s strong foundation. As a fourth-generation ironworker and proud Marine Corps veteran, the values of discipline, hard work, and loyalty run deep. From his great-grandfather to his father, working with steel was in his blood. That legacy came full circle on April 28, 1993, when Craig founded Cedar Valley Steel.
The Early Years
Like most great ventures, Cedar Valley Steel began with long days and longer nights. Craig worked full-time in the field as an ironworker and handled the business side after hours. Those early years were tough, but they forged something stronger than steel: trust. By year three, customers knew they could rely on him to deliver, no matter the challenge.
Growth with Purpose
Once the company had its footing, Craig began thinking beyond Cedar Valley Steel. He asked himself, “What more can we bring to the customer?” That mindset led to new services and a stronger company. Roofing, sheeting, crane services, and more were added to meet the growing needs of the community. Every decision was about helping others build stronger, safer structures.
